Sharks Come Up Just Short in Midweek Battle Against Titans

Oct 16, 2025

The Sharks took a midweek trip to New Jersey to face the Titans, falling just short in a hard-fought matinee matchup.

The Titans struck first, taking a 1–0 lead into the first intermission.  Early in the second, Sean Bailey put the Sharks on the board with his first goal of the season to even things up.  The Titans quickly answered with two goals in just over a minute, but the Sharks battled back as Caden Shafer found the back of the net to tie it once again.  With under two minutes left in the second period, Gustav Martinsson scored a gritty shorthanded goal to give the Sharks momentum heading into the break with the game tied 3–3.

In the third, the Titans added two more goals. Shafer netted his second of the game late in the period, but the Sharks couldn’t complete the comeback, falling 5–4.

The Sharks return home this weekend to take on the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings.  Puck drops in Long Beach on Saturday at 7:00pm and Sunday at 2:30pm.
