Sharks sink the Sea Captains in Norwich

Dec 7, 2025

The Sharks hit the road after their Thanksgiving break to face the Sea Captains in Norwich for a two game series and the Sharks came home with 4 points and extended their win steak to 7 straight.

In Friday afternoon’s matchup, the Sea Captains struck first with a goal in the first.  The Sharks answered back with two in the second.  Caden Shafer kicked off the Sharks scoring with a snipe to the top right corner.  Then Jack Baker tipped one in off a shot from the point by Spencer Nicoloff to give the Sharks the lead.  Early in the third, Gustav Martinsson capitalized on a Sea Captain’s turnover in the neutral zone which proved to be the game winner.  Nicklas Walker picked up his 7th win of the season in net for the Sharks stopping 27 of 29 shots.

These two clubs were back in action on Saturday evening and again, Norwich struck first but that was their only goal.  Brendan Dalton kicked off the scoring for the Sharks late in the first.  It was a pretty one timer off a nice cross ice pass from Sean Bailey.  The game remained tied after 50 minutes of play when Sean Bailey dug the puck out of the corner and shot a backhander past the netminder to give the Sharks the lead.  Jack Baker sealed the deal with an empty netter which was shot from the Sharks zone.  The Sea Captains netminder returned to the crease and with just 22 seconds left, Eli McCarthy fed Caden Shafer in front and he notched one in to give the Sharks a 4-1 victory.  Will Zinnen was solid again between the pipes for the Sharks tallying his 8th win of the season.

The Sharks are back in action this Wednesday, December 10th as they head to New Jersey to take on the Titans.  Puck drop is at 1:00pm.  Catch the action on NATV.
