The Sharks have not won a game in Middletown all season and were looking break their streak, and that they did!
Sean Bailey opened the scoring for the Sharks early in the second period with a partial breakaway. Despite being mugged by two Titans’ defenders, Bailey was able to get it past the Titans’ netminder for his 20th goal of the season. Later in the second, Sam Barnard found the back of the net with a backhand off a pretty pass from Ryder Pisiak.
With 4:19 left in the third, Captain Jay Montgomery scored on a one-timer off a beautiful pass from Jack Baker from behind the net. Montgomery’s goal would end up being the game-winner as the Titans made a late offensive push and scored two goals with under two minutes left in the third. Will Zinnen was solid in the net, stopping 36 of 38 shots.
The Sharks are back in action next Wednesday and Thursday as the Buzz head to snowy Long Island to play two games in Long Beach. Gametime for both games is at 1:00pm.
