The Sharks donned the bus once again and headed up i95 to visit the Sea Captains in Norwich and added another victory to their record. Eli McCarthy kicked off the scoring for the Sharks early in the first period. The Sea Captains tied it up late in the first, sending the game knotted at one into the second period. In the second, the shorthanded Sharks caught the Sea Captains on a change and had a two-on-none where Eli McCarthy flipped a little pass over to Peyton Dahlke for his first goal as a Shark. Dahlke found the back of the net a second time later in the period. Kingsley Solomon and Anthony Valeriote added to the Sharks’ tally in the third to defeat the Sea Captains by a score of 5-1. Nicklas Walker got his second win of the season in net for the Sharks.

On Sunday, the Sea Captains made the trip to Long Island for the Sharks’ home opener, and what a memorable home opener it was! The Sharks managed to score 15 goals on 70 shots. No, that is not a typo! The goal scorers for the Sharks were: Caden Shafer, James Steinberg (2 goals), Anthony Valeriote, Jonas Cappiello (2 goals), Roberto Gamez, Peyton Dahlke (2 goals), Rhett Micallef, Tate Cakir, Eli McCarthy, Kingsley Solomon (2 goals), and Brady Gatchell. This was the most goals scored by a Sharks team in their home opener in their 10-year history. Caden Wright got the victory in net for the Sharks.

The Sharks are back in action this Wednesday, when they travel to Brick, New Jersey, to take on the East Division’s newest team, the Garden State Gamblers. Puck drop is at 1:30pm. Catch the action on NAHL TV.
