Congratulations to Captain Jake Weikel on his commitment to West Virginia University (ACHA D1). The ’01 forward native of Plymouth Meeting, PA completed his 2nd season with the Sharks and put up career numbers with 27 goals 14 assists for 41 points this season, an 32 point increase from the previous season. Jake also participated at the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, the league All-Star Showcase.
Jake was the obvious choice to wear the “C” for the Sharks this season and the organization couldn’t have been more proud of the leadership Jake exemplified throughout the season. Jake set a great example for all the young players in the locker room. His story from going from healthy scratch the first weekend 2 seasons ago to Captain and Top Prospect, and now a ACHA D-1 Student Athlete is a great example of hard work and dedication paying off. Jake leadership and play was an integral part of the Shark’s success this season.
WVU is getting a tremendous player and great human being for the next 4 years. We couldn’t be more proud of calling Jake an alumni of the organization. Jake plans on studying Biology at WVU. Congratulations to Jake and his family on his commitment to West Virginia University!
