Nor’Easter! No problem!

Sep 28, 2026

The Northeast got slammed with a Nor’easter, but the crazy weather didn’t stop the Sharks from traveling up to Norwich to face the Sea Captains. The Sea Captains got on the board first, scoring just 53 seconds into the first period, but the Sharks quickly answered back and never looked back. Veteran Caden Shafer kicked off the scoring for the Sharks with a power-play goal. Later in the period, Tate Cakir also took advantage of being on the power play and netted a sweet shot over the goalie’s glove. Three minutes later, Captain Anthony Valeriote stole the puck from a Sea Captains’ defender and deked around their goalie for the Sharks’ third goal. A little over a minute later, Caden Shafer capitalized on a rebound for his second goal of the game. The Sharks added two more goals in the second period, a power-play goal by Roberto Gamez and Tate Cakir’s second of the game. In the third period, Kingsley Solomon and veteran Brady Gatchell added to the Sharks’ lead. The Sharks beat the Sea Captains 8-3. Colton Spavento made his debut for the Sharks between the pipes and was credited with the victory.

The Sharks were supposed to have their home opener on Sunday, but the storm prevented the Titans from travelling to Long Island. That game will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Sharks are back in action next weekend with a home and home with the Sea Captains.
