Sean Bailey and Jay Montgomery selected in the NAHL Entry Draft

The Long Beach Sharks turnaround season did not go unnoticed as two Sharks were selected in the NAHL Entry Draft on June 10, 2026.

Forward Sean Bailey was selected in the 9th Round, 283rd overall, by the El Paso Rhinos.  Bailey, hailing from Peoria, AZ, finished his rookie NA3 season with an impressive 25 goals and 28 assists in 52 games.

Bailey on playing for the Long Beach Sharks:

“Playing for Coach Tory and the Long Beach Sharks was the best Juniors experience I could have ever hoped for.  I developed so much as a person and a player, and the Sharks organization is outstanding.  I found friends for life and reignited my love for the game.  Thank you to the Sharks for everything.”

Captain defenseman Jay Montgomery was selected in the 19th round, 599th overall, by the Northeast Generals.  Montgomery, hailing from Paradise Valley, AZ, played for two seasons with the Sharks, totaling 86 games played in the NA3HL, including two in the NA3HL Top Prospects.  In his second season with the Sharks, Montgomery was given the “C” for his leadership both on and off the ice.

“I’m incredibly grateful for my time with the Sharks.  Having the opportunity to serve as captain was an honor I’ll always be thankful for.  A special thank you to Coach Jeff Tory and Coach Bobby Davis for everything they taught me and for always believing in me.  The memories, friendships, and lessons I gained here will stay with me forever, and I’ll always be proud to have been a Shark.”
