Sharks fall to the Sea Captains in Overtime

Nov 5, 2025

The Sharks came up just short in a midweek matchup in Long Beach, falling to the Sea Captains in overtime.

After a scoreless first period, the Sea Captains opened the scoring in the second.  The Sharks quickly responded with two goals in less than 90 seconds.  James Steinberg got the Sharks on the board, skating past the defense and lifting a backhand shot past the Sea Captains’ netminder.  Moments later, Eli McCarty capitalized on a rebound off a Sean Bailey shot to give the Sharks a 2–1 lead heading into the second intermission.

Early in the third, Sean Bailey extended the lead with a laser from between the top of the circles.  However, the Sea Captains battled back with two goals in the final period to force overtime.  Just 37 seconds into the extra period, the Sea Captains converted on flip cross ice pass to secure the win.

The Sharks now turn their attention to a two-game road series against the Jr. Mountain Kings in New Hampshire.  Game one is set for Friday, November 7th at 3:20pm, followed by game two on Saturday, November 8th at 2:20pm.  You can catch all the action live on NATV.
