The Sharks headed to Elmira to face the Buzz in a two game series and came away with two wins!
In Wednesday’s game, the Buzz struck first scoring in the second period but the Sharks answered back with three goals in the third. Sam Barnard led the scoring for the Sharks when he got his own rebound and was able to put it past the Buzz netminder. Then James Steinberg was able to capitalize on the powerplay with a one timer. Payton Hauge sealed the victory with an empty net goal, his first as a Shark. Nicklas Walker was solid in net for the Sharks stopping 30 of 31 shots.
On Thursday the Sharks offense was on fire! Jace Tourtillott kicked off the scoring in the first with a power play goal. Gustav Martinsson banged one home early in the second to put the Sharks up by two. But the Sharks weren’t done. They added three more goals in the second. JD DiTommaso ripped one over the tendy’s glove for goal number three. Sam Barnard capitalized on a centering pass from Brady Gatchell for the Shark’s fourth goal. Spencer Nicoloff’s beautiful one timer put the Sharks up by five. In the third, Eli McCarthy, keeping the puck in the zone, fired it at the goal from the blueline and scored. The Sharks went on to win 6-0. Will Zinnen turned away all the shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season.
