The NA3HL hosted the East Division Showcase on Friday at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA, where the Sharks faced the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings in a battle for sole possession of first place, and the Sharks came out on top!
Just 29 seconds into the opening period, the Sharks took a hooking penalty, and the Jr. Mountain Kings capitalized immediately to take an early lead. That lead held until halfway through the second, when Jace Tourtillott buried a power-play goal to even the score. Seven minutes later, Eli McCarthy struck on the power play, taking advantage when the Jr. Mountain Kings’ goaltender lost sight of the puck. McCarthy’s goal stood as the game winner, as both goaltenders shut things down in a tight third period. Will Zinnen was solid in net for the Sharks and notched his seventh win of the season.
With this win, the Sharks officially claimed sole possession of first place in the East Division.
The team now heads into a well-deserved Thanksgiving break. They return to action on Friday, December 5th, traveling to Norwich for a two-game matchup against the Sea Captains.
