Congratulations to Spencer Dixon on his commitment to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (ACHA D-1). The ’01 native of Owens Cross Roads, AL arrived to Long beach via a trade in the spring of 2021 seeking more exposure to universities in the Northeast. The 6’3″ 205lb left shot defenseman provided veteran leadership and toughness that the Sharks were seeking to add going into the season.
The 2021-2022 season has seen Spencer increase his point total to 21 points from 3 in the previous season. This is an area in his game that he worked tremendously on throughout the season and caught notice of colleges. Spencer is not shy getting into the dirty areas of the rink. His physical play gave the opposition limited opportunities on the blue line and in the corners.
IUP is getting a great player and an even better person for the next 4 years. Congratulations to both Spencer and his family on his commitment.
