Ryan Cortez came up big, stopping 51 of 54 shots throughout the game. The L/A Nordiques took the lead late in the second on a goal from Sam Frechette.

During the second, Chauvin opened the scoring for L/A with a goal at 0:50 with a helper from his teammate Labrie. Frechette put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:10 with an assist from Labrie.
In the third period, Malone deposited a goal at 11:08 with helpers from his linemates, Labrie and Plummer. Ferrucci finally put Long Beach on the board with a goal at 15:38 with assists from Bergman and Carlock.
