Oct 22, 2024

On Saturday, the Long Beach Sharks hosted the New Jersey Titans.  The Sharks got on the board early with a goal by Devon Fay. The Titans came back with 3 unanswered goals to finish the first period. The Sharks came out strong in the second period led by Wyatt Strahan who scored 2 goals, which were his first 2 junior goals. Despite a strong third period, the Sharks were unable to get one past the netminder and fell 5-4 in OT.

Sunday the Sharks hosted Norwich in their first meeting of the season. The Sharks picked up right where they left off the night before getting on the board first with another goal by Wyatt Strahan on a nice assist from Mason Jackson. Norwich tied it up and the two clubs went into the second period tied at 1-1. The Sharks regained the lead with a pretty goal by Mason Jackson with a great assist from Colton Kozma. That’s how the game stayed until halfway through the third period where Norwich was able to tie things up at 2 a piece. Despite a strong effort, Norwich was able to get another goal past goalie Turner England with less than a minute to go. The Sharks had a couple good looks with the goalie pulled but eventually conceded an empty net goal to make the final 4-2.  Sunday marked Robert Wieber’s 100th game as a Shark.
