Weekend Recap: Sharks Split with the Generals!

Sharks hosted the 1st place Northeast Generals this past weekend.  Sharks dropped the Saturday’s tilt 3-2 but bounced back Sunday with a 4-2 victory.

Robert Wieber registered his 1st career junior hockey goal to start the scoring Saturday in the 1st period.  Generals responded by scoring 2 goals to end the 1st period.  Generals once again added another goal to make it 3-1, Chris Keller closed the gap by scoring his 5th goal of the season to end the 2nd period.  Neither team scored in the 3rd period and the Generals took the 1st game of the weekend series.  Ryo Murakami made 30 saves in the loss.

Sunday it was the Generals that started the scoring in the 1st period.  Sharks came out stronger in the 2nd and Sam Barnitz scored both of the Sharks goals in the 2nd period to take the 2-1 advantage after 2 periods.  Logan Plante and Zac Kretzschmer added to the lead in the 3rd period before the Generals added a late goal in the 3rd.  Generals could not come back and the Sharks won the 2nd game of the weekend series 4-2.  Ryo Murakami made 30 saves in the victory.

Sharks will be heading to NJ to face off against the Titans on Wednesday before flying to Minnesota for the NA3HL Showcase.  Sharks will battle the Peoria Mustangs, Sheridan Hawks, and Louisiana Drillers.   All games will be streamed on HockeyTV.com
